Aon has appointed Avishek B Rath as head of growth for facultative reinsurance in India, according to a LinkedIn post by Anshuman Kumar Panda, the firm’s head of facultative reinsurance and crisis management for India.

Rath joins Aon after more than 18 years at Marsh India, where he recently served as head of the government business group. He brings extensive industry experience, having held leadership roles across energy, renewables, and government.

In his new position, Rath will lead the delivery of facultative solutions and related insights for Indian clients, with a remit focused on assisting cedants in de-risking portfolios and securing additional capacity where needed. The role also includes supporting clients’ growth plans amid increasingly complex risk profiles and placement dynamics.

“With almost 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles across Energy, Renewables and Government, Avishek brings deep expertise and a passion for client success,” said Panda.

Rath’s appointment follows another reinsurance leadership announcement made by Aon India this week, promoting Neha Shah to head of life and health reinsurance.
