Vero has welcomed back Ben Doherty as a fleet underwriter for its Victoria and Tasmania underwriting team, Megan Lewis, State Distribution Manager for Vero-Vic/Tas, announced on LinkedIn.

Doherty returns to Vero after spending nearly three years at QBE Insurance, where he most recently served as Service Manager for Commercial Large and Complex Claims. Before that, he also held managerial positions for companies such as NTI and Suncorp Group.

Doherty brings over 12 years of experience in claims across multiple lines, along with a background in fleet risk engineering.

In his new position, Doherty “is now focused on building his underwriting expertise and is passionate about forming strong relationships with the market and exploring new opportunities,” according to Lewis.

This move comes as Vero’s latest SME Insurance Index shows broker satisfaction among Australian small and medium enterprises has declined, highlighting the importance of proactive client engagement in maintaining lasting partnerships.
