Berjaya Sompo Insurance has appointed Michelle Siow as head of consumer insights and product strategy, effective 1 July 2026.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Siow brings 18 years of experience across financial services, spanning banking and insurance roles with a focus on retail marketing, customer insights, agency communications and product strategy. Her career has covered a wide range of portfolios, including bancassurance, investments, financing, cards and deposits.
Most recently, she served as head of marketing communications at Maybank. She later took on a brief stint as brand director at EBC Financial Group.
Earlier, Siow spent four years at AIG, where she last held the role of senior marketing communications manager. She also began her career as a senior business analyst at RBC Investor Services, giving her early exposure to financial operations and analytics.
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, the company said Siow’s experience in driving strategic initiatives, customer segmentation and process improvements would help strengthen its consumer insights function and enhance product strategy development for customers and business partners.
The appointment comes as Berjaya Sompo continues to build out its senior leadership team. Earlier the same day, the insurer named Puriantoh Supu as head of property, engineering and energy, marking his return to the company after nearly 15 years.
These moves follow the appointment of Wai Har Soo as chief executive officer in March 2026, as part of a broader leadership reshuffle.
