FWD Group has appointed Craig Tunstall as its Interim Chief Risk Officer, pending regulatory approval, according to a media release on Friday, 10 October.
Tunstall first joined FWD in 2020 and currently serves as the Chief Corporate Governance Officer for FWD in Thailand, one of the group’s largest business units. He is set to succeed Jeremy Porter, who is entering retirement on 14 November.
With over 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry, Tunstall brings expertise in product development, finance, actuarial, and risk management across the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.
Commenting on the announcement, FWD Group Chief Executive and Executive Director Huynh Thanh Phong praised Porter’s contributions during his tenure, including implementing the group-wide supervision framework and overseeing the company’s successful debut on the Kong stock exchange on 7 July.
Aligned with the firm’s commitment to prioritising risk management and regulatory compliance amid evolving global market standards, Phong said: “We’re pleased to have someone of Craig’s calibre, experience, and familiarity with FWD Group ready to provide interim leadership to our Group Risk & Compliance function as we complete a comprehensive search process for this key role.
