Gallagher Re has appointed Carlos Grijalva as executive director and head of cyber for Asia-Pacific, the business announced on Friday.
Hong Kong-based Grijalva joins after three years at Willis, where he most recently served as head of cyber sales for Asia. His previous experiences include nearly five years at Generali Global Corporate & Commercial in Hong Kong and stints at Chubb and AIG in Ecuador.
“With a rapidly growing client base in the region, Grijalva’s appointment reflects Gallagher Re’s commitment to establishing a strong local presence in one of the fastest-growing regions for cyber,” the broker said in a statement.
The move is the latest in a series of senior APAC appointments by Gallagher Re so far this year, including in May when the global reinsurance broker announced Russell Hails as its head of MGA solutions for the region and Jun Liu as head of China agriculture.
It also follows February’s announcement that Roshan Perera had been appointed head of APAC, succeeding Mark O’Brien, who has since joined XS Global to drive growth of the MGA’s Asia treaty portfolio.
