Gallagher Re has appointed Russell Hails to an expanded role as executive director, head of MGA Solutions, Asia-Pacific, the company announced on Tuesday.
Hails joined the global reinsurance broker last year with a mandate to re-establish its MGA proposition in the Pacific region.
He brings more than 15 years of insurance industry experience, having held key leadership positions at Lockton and Willis Re in Sydney, where he led its facultative and MGA propositions.
Commenting on the appointment, Roshan Perera, managing director, head of APAC, said: “This appointment represents a significant step in enhancing our MGA proposition in the region, and we are confident that Russell will drive growth and deliver exceptional results in this key area.”
Hails’ expanded role follows a series of key appointments by the broker in APAC this year, among them being Jun Liu as head of China agriculture, MJ Sung as divisional director for Korea, Roshan Perera as head of APAC, and Minesh Jani as CEO for India.
