Gallagher Re has named Jun Liu as Head of China Agriculture, effective 1 May 2026, the broker announced on LinkedIn on Friday.
Liu will take on the role while maintaining his current post as deputy head of the Beijing team. Prior to joining the reinsurer in 2025, Liu has held senior roles for Datong Insurance Services, Aon-COFCO and Guy Carpenter.
“Jun brings more than 18 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, along with deep expertise in the agricultural sector,” Gallagher Re said. “His strong leadership and market insight position him well to drive continued growth and strengthen our capabilities in this space.”
The move comes amid a period of change and key appointments by the reinsurance broker in the Asia Pacific this year. These include Roshan Perera as head of APAC, MJ Sung as divisional director for Korea, and Minesh Jani as CEO for India. It has also seen the departures of Chairman Richard Jones, who has moved to Willis Re to lead the relaunched broker’s Asia operations, Mark O’Brien, former Head of APAC, and Mark Morley, the former chairman of APAC and deputy chairman of international.
