Singaporean-headquartered insurtech KoverNow has announced the appointment of John Trotter as Chief Sales Officer and Managing Director for its Hong Kong operations, effective 1 March.

Trotter brings significant industry experience to the new role. His background includes Head of Digital Distribution roles at QBE and SunLife as well as time with AXA as Corporate Development Director for Asia.

In an announcement, KoverNow said that Trotter will be responsible for expanding the insurtech’s customer base beyond Singapore, with the business looking to launch its digital app in Hong Kong.

Stephan Kaiser, CEO at KoverNow, commented, “We are very excited to welcome John to the team. He is a passionate advocate for innovation and technology that makes customers’ lives easier and his familiarity with disruptive insurance solutions means he is ideal for heading up our expansion into a new territory.”

KoverNow is a mobile-based insurance platform that aims to provide value through ease of use and flexible policies, including ‘metered’ policy terms. It provides travel insurance and coverage for personal items—such as cameras, luxury watches, laptops, and jewellery—underwritten by carriers including QBE.
