Japan Post Insurance Co. have announced that Kunio Tanigaki will take over as president in June. Tanigaki, currently an executive vice president at Japan Post Bank, will replace Tetsuya Senda, 62, who has been appointed to serve as the president of Japan Post Co.
The leadership changes come after the Japan Post Holdings Co. group, which includes Japan Post Insurance, Japan Post Bank, and Japan Post, completed reforms of its corporate culture following a scandal in 2019.
Tanigaki and Senda both joined the former Posts and Telecommunications Ministry, now the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry, in 1984. Tanigaki has held several posts within the Japan Post group, including executive officer at Japan Post Holdings and deputy president of Japan Post Insurance.
