Joanne Walker has joined Allianz Australia as its new Chief Information Officer, Brendan Dunne, the company’s Chief Customer and Operations Officer, announced on LinkedIn.

With a background in IT leadership across financial services, Walker joins following a three-year stint at EY, where she served as Lead Partner (Oceania FSO Tech Consulting). She brings over 17 years of experience, having also previously worked for companies such as Westpac, AMP, Macquarie, and Barclays.

Commenting on Walker’s appointment, Dunne said: “We value her strong background in driving operational transformation and innovation…Joanne’s experience will be instrumental in advancing our technology strategy and enhancing our technology capabilities.”

Walker’s appointment follows another key leadership announcement for Allianz Australia, with the business naming Luke Whenman as its Chief Claims Officer in June.
