Manulife Philippines has appointed Ganesh Kumar Murugesan as chief information officer, the insurer said on Tuesday.
Murugesan spent over eight years with Manulife’s regional technology team in Hong Kong, before taking up the role of Manulife Philippines’ head of delivery in January this year. His previous experience includes time at Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro Technologies, spanning the development and delivery of technology solutions supporting distribution growth, operational transformation, and customer experience across insurers in the region.
Rahul Hora, Manulife Philippines’ President and chief executive officer, said that Murugesan brings “deep expertise and a strong execution track record that will be critical as we continue to strengthen our technology capabilities and drive transformation across the business.”
“By investing in our people and transforming our business through AI and innovation, we can improve customer experience, increase speed to market, and accelerate the company’s growth ambitions,” he added.
The appointment follows a series of recent distribution and leadership changes across Manulife’s Asia business. In August, Manulife appointed Jeremy Young as chief distribution officer, international brokerage, Global High-Net-Worth. In July, Manulife Malaysia hired Sook Yann Lee as chief partnership distribution officer, while Manulife Hong Kong and Macau promoted Carrie Tong to chief distribution officer.
In December 2025, Manulife launched a new AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore, aiming to expand its regional, tech-trained talent base over the next three years.
