Aon has appointed Mike Baker as Regional Managing Director for APAC, Chief Commercial Officer Jane Drummond announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday, August 28.
Baker returns to the broker from Howden, where he served as Chief Client Officer for Asia since January 2024, having previously worked at Aon from August 2022 to January 2024.
In his new role, Baker will lead Aon Client Leadership across a portfolio of large corporate clients in the Asia-Pacific region.
Baker brings three decades of experience in the insurance industry, having worked in major financial centres including London, Sydney, and Singapore, including nearly a decade spent at WTW.
“Welcome back to the Aon family Mike, we are delighted to have you as part of the team,” said Drummond.
Baker’s appointment continues Aon’s recent leadership expansion across Asia, following the company’s appointment of Lin Mun as Director, Client Management for Aon Reinsurance Malaysia on August 26 and the promotion of Jocelyn Po to Philippine country head for reinsurance solutions in August.
