UnderwriteMe, the insurtech firm of Pacific Life Re, has named Andrew Doran as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, the business announced in a media release on Monday. He succeeds James Tait, who has left the company to explore new opportunities.

Doran has been with the reinsurer in Singapore for the last five years, serving as global Chief Underwriting Officer since October 2022.

In his new role, he will return to the UK, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in the (re)insurance sectors.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew to UnderwriteMe,” said Andrew Gill, EVP, global protection at Pacific Life Re and Chair of UnderwriteMe. “His extensive experience and proven track record in the insurance industry, combined with his deep understanding of our company’s technology and strategic goals, make him the ideal leader to deliver UnderwriteMe’s growth ambitions.”

In its announcement, Pacific Life Re said that Doran has leveraged UnderwriteMe’s technology to develop underwriting and claims solutions for clients throughout his time at the business. “His innovative approach has been instrumental in leading the AI adoption in critical areas of the business,” the reinsurer added.

Prior to joining Pacific Life Re in 2020, Doran served at Aviva for over a decade, across the UK and Singapore.
