Pei Ru Chiew joins Sompo International from AXA XL to spearhead APAC Crisis Management

Sompo International has appointed Pei Ru Chiew as its new Head of Crisis Management, Commercial P&C Insurance for the Asia-Pacific region.

Chiew starts her position with immediate effect and will be based in Singapore where she will report directly to Paul O’Neil, President of Commercial Lines, Insurance, APAC.

She joins from AXA XL Singapore team, where she was Senior Underwriter of War, Terrorism and Political Violence. Her prior experience also includes time at JLT Specialty, serving as a Credit, Political and Security Risk broker and Manager, and Marsh Asia, where was Terrorism and Political Violence broker.

Commenting on the new appointment, O’Neil said: “We are seeing growing demand for political violence and terrorism insurance cover in this region. Pei Ru’s extensive experience in this sector well-positions her to work closely with our clients and broker partners delivering the solutions that meet their evolving needs.”
