Sompo has appointed three senior finance professionals to key roles across its Asia-Pacific operations, the insurer announced on LinkedIn on Tuesday, 2 September.
See Ju Chua has been named Senior Vice President, Head of Capital Management, APAC, effective immediately. She will manage the group’s regional capital, optimise capital structure, and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
Chua brings extensive experience within the Sompo group, having previously served as SVP, Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Planning General Manager at Sompo Holdings (Asia), and Head of Reserving and Capital, Asia Pacific.
Based in Singapore, Chua will report to Takashi Kurumisawa, Chief Financial Officer, APAC, and work closely with Global Finance, Risk, and Reinsurance functions on capital management and treasury initiatives.
Pei Shan Tay has been appointed Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Singapore, effective September 1. She will report to Julian Wong, Chief Financial Officer, Singapore, and Ren Hattori, Head of FP&A, APAC.
She moves from her current role as Commercial Finance Senior Manager, Asia Pacific at Sompo, and previously served as Head of Finance SEA at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Pei Shan will focus on enhancing and simplifying financial analysis and business planning processes to support the regional growth strategy, working with regional and local finance teams across APAC, with a primary focus on the Singapore market.
Mindy Lee, FCCA, moves to the role of Financial Controller, Singapore, having worked as a Financial Accountant at Sompo Holdings Asia since 2021. She will report to Julian Wong and Jackie Liang, Regional Financial Controller, APAC, overseeing internal group financial reporting and local statutory reporting for Singapore, while contributing to financial transformation projects.
These finance hires follow recent leadership appointments, including Jun Zhe Ng’s promotion to Chief Consumer Officer for Singapore in July, and come as Sompo prepares for its US$3.5bn acquisition of Aspen Insurance, expected to close in the first half of 2026.
