Building on record VNB growth in 2025, the insurer sustained its momentum into the first quarter of 2026, supported by strong growth in new business volumes.
Asia is expected to drive 54% of the global rise in business insolvencies in 2026–2027, with the company forecasting APAC cases up 7% this year and 3% next year.
The agency said the changes are unlikely to be meaningful enough in most cases to negatively affect insurers’ credit profiles, even if firms adjust investment, hedging and product design.
Insured losses from the event were estimated at US$300m, as global economic losses reached US$37bn, 43% below the 21st-century average and the lowest since 2015.
