Sompo Asia Pacific has appointed Claire Siow Lyn Chin as APAC head of enterprise risk management and operations, the company announced on LinkedIn.
Based in Malaysia, Chin joins Sompo from AIG, where she spent 15 years in risk roles in Kuala Lumpur, including head of risk, Southeast Asia and Malaysia.
“Claire will be responsible for strengthening risk governance and oversight, leading cross-regional initiatives, enhancing risk reporting and insights, and ensuring effective coordination across markets and functions,” Sompo said in its announcement.
The appointment is one of several recent moves by the insurer in the region. This month, Sompo named Chuan Lye Tan as chairman of Berjaya Sompo in Malaysia, appointed Canon Liu as head of financial lines for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and tapped Maureen Ung as APAC commercial distribution director.
