Sompo Asia Pacific has appointed Maureen Ung as director, commercial distribution, as the business looks to continue to expand its specialty and commercial insurance business across Asia Pacific.
Singapore-based Ung brings nearly two decades of experience spanning customer strategy, claims and commercial distribution across the Asia Pacific insurance market. She joins from Everest, where she most recently served as commercial director, Asia and, prior, as head of claims, Asia. Before joining Everest, Ung spent more than five years with Zurich Insurance in Singapore, including as chief claims officer.
In her new role, Ung will focus on developing Singapore retail and wholesale distribution for APAC, key client management, and regional broker development, Sompo said.
The appointment follows a series of leadership additions across Sompo’s Asia Pacific business this year, including Sarah Lee as multinational network manager for APAC and Daniel Lukas as head of personal lines for APAC.
