Allianz Trade will appoint Wongi Kim as Country Manager for South Korea, effective 1 April 2025, the trade credit insurer announced in a media release. He will succeed Andy Ryoo, who is retiring after more than 22 years with the company.
Kim first joined Allianz Trade in 2015 as Business Development Manager and held the position for nearly eight years. In 2023, he was promoted to Commercial Manager.
Edmond Lee, CEO at Allianz Trade in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea, expressed his gratitude to the retiring Ryoo, who originally started with Euler Hermes in 2002, before it was acquired by Allianz Trade: “He has been a rock for our South Korean business, we would not be where we are today without his dedication and commitment.”
Speaking on Kim’s appointment, Lee said, “With Wongi’s wealth of product knowledge and proven track record, I have every confidence that he will further strengthen our presence not just in the local market but in the region, and to foster stronger and enduring relationships with our customers and business partners.”
Before joining Allianz Trade, Kim spent over eight years at Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Dongguk University.
