Berkley Re Asia has promoted Si Wei Tay and Billy Kwan to head of claims and head of property and business, respectively, according to separate LinkedIn announcements by the company on 2 December.
Both based in Singapore, Tay has been with the reinsurer for nearly eight years, most recently as senior reinsurance claims officer. Her previous experience also includes six years at MS Amlin and vrs Adjusters.
Kwan, meanwhile, has been with Berkley Re since 2022, most recently serving as underwriting manager. He brings over 21 years of insurance and finance experience to his new role, having previously held roles at SiriusPoint and Asia Capital Re.
Their promotions follow a series of recent appointments across the wider Berkley group in the Asia-Pacific region. In October, Berkley Insurance Australia named Gareth Edwards as national head of claims, while Berkley Insurance Asia appointed Jeffery Yang as pricing and data analyst.
