Berkley Insurance Australia has appointed Gareth Edwards as National Head of Claims, the specialty insurer announced on LinkedIn on Thursday.
Edwards joins from JLT Public Sector, where he served as Divisional Manager, Claims. He brings over two decades of experience, having worked at managing general agents, brokers, and insurers—including Liberty Speciality Markets, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, and QBE.
He is also a seasoned litigator, having defended numerous actions across all levels of the state and federal court systems, Berkley said. “This depth of experience gives him a unique understanding of our clients’ challenges and needs.”
Edwards’ appointment follows previous hires at Berkley Insurance Australia, including Sue Pereira, who joined the Brisbane team as an underwriter focusing on financial lines, and Joey Tran, who was named General Liability Underwriter for the Melbourne team.
