Allianz Commercial Japan has appointed Yoshio Motohashi as senior underwriter and general manager for liability, effective at the start of 2026, Brian Jinzenji, president of Allianz Commercial Japan, announced on LinkedIn on Tuesday.
Motohashi joins Allianz Commercial from Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, where he most recently served as general manager and head of global projects for the commercial lines underwriting department.
“With recent market changes, the Japan market is opening up, presenting new opportunities, and we aim to expand our presence and drive our next phase of growth in the country,” Jinzenji said.
Motohashi’s appointment is part of broader leadership changes at Allianz Commercial Japan. In a related move, Casey Sandler is set to join the company in March as director and head of distribution management for Japan, pending regulatory approval.
