Howden New Zealand has appointed Mark Kenyon as a partner in its Wellington team, the company announced in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.

Kenyon joins the broker after spending over nine years with Aon, most recently serving as regional manager. He has also worked for firms such as Crawford & Company, Farmers Mutual Group, and Lombard General Insurance.

He is equipped with more than 30 years of experience spanning leadership, complex claims and client advisory work. Kenyon has also worked extensively on property, liability, contract works and marine claims across New Zealand, and Australia.

Commenting on the move, Kenyon said: “I’m genuinely excited to be joining Howden as a Partner in Wellington. I’m looking forward to being part of the growth and expansion of Howden in New Zealand. The culture, people and client focus energises and excites me.”

Kenyon is the latest hire to join from rival broker Aon as the company continues to build out its regional capabilities. Earlier, Howden expanded its M&A insurance team in Asia with 12 hires across Singapore, Greater China and Japan, largely drawing on Aon talent as it scales up its regional transactional risk capability.
