Delta Insurance New Zealand has appointed Brett Wainhouse as head of distribution, effective August, the company announced on Friday.
He joins from Zurich Australia, where he spent 12 years in senior leadership roles, most recently as state manager for Victoria and Tasmania. He previously served as general manager of Zurich New Zealand.
Wainhouse has more than 28 years of experience across corporate and commercial insurance markets in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. He has also held underwriting and senior roles at Lumley Insurance, Marsh and Chubb.
Dinesh Murali, appointed Managing Director of Delta Insurance New Zealand in March, said Wainhouse is a respected leader in the sector and would strengthen the company’s broker engagement.
“Brett combines deep market knowledge with extensive leadership experience,” said Teresa Pollard, interim chief executive officer of Delta International.
The appointment follows other recent leadership changes at Delta, including Matthew Davis as head of claims for Australia and Petr Dorofeev as technology and cyber product lead in New Zealand.
