Marsh has appointed Marcus Piristi as Head of Energy for the Pacific region, as the broker restructures its energy and power team to sharpen its focus across three distinct segments, Jane Smith, head of power and energy for Pacific, announced via LinkedIn on 25 March.
Piristi joins from Aon, where his most recent position was Client Director for Global and Corporate, leading a team of broking professionals delivering risk solutions to large, complex, and multinational clients across a broad range of industry sectors. Prior to Aon, he spent six years at Jardine Lloyd Thompson Australia.
His appointment forms part of a broader realignment of Marsh’s Pacific energy and power practice, which has been reorganised into three pillars: Power, led by Alex Cohen; Energy, led by Piristi; and Renewables, led by Ross Hoy. The restructure is designed to sharpen the broker’s focus on the distinct challenges and opportunities within each segment.
“With his extensive experience and energy sector knowledge, Marcus will be a tremendous asset,” said Jane Smith, head of Marsh’s Energy and Power team in the Pacific, announcing the appointment. “This strategic realignment sharpens our focus on the unique challenges and opportunities in each segment, delivering solutions that truly meet our clients’ needs.”
Marsh has strengthened its APAC bench with several senior appointments in 2026. Most recently, Noelene Palmer was named the new Chief Operating Officer, and Tim Atkins was appointed as the head of insurance consulting group, both for the Pacific region. Meanwhile, Jason Mandera has taken on the role of CEO of Marsh McLennan Indonesia.
