Starr Insurance has designated Jean Michoud as its regional travel partnerships lead for Asia-Pacific, the business announced in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.
Michoud brings over 15 years of experience across insurance, financial services, and digital distribution, with prior stints at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he was most recently senior vice president and regional head of direct and digital distribution for Asia markets, and Manulife, where he was last AVP regional head of new business generation and digital marketing for Asia-Pacific.
In his new role, Michoud will focus on developing and scaling Starr’s travel partnerships across the region, working closely with regional and in-market teams to expand distribution through strategic alliances and digital platforms, and drive growth through affinity and digital channels.
The move follows the appointments of Vivian Xiao as head of financial lines for China and Danielle An as head of financial lines for Singapore and wholesale business for Asia over the last month. It also comes two weeks after Starr completed its acquisition of IQUW Group, combining the businesses into a broader specialty (re)insurance platform spanning the London market, Bermuda and UK retail motor.
