HDI Global SE has appointed Diane Chong as senior underwriter for downstream energy in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn post on Friday.

Chong joins from Everest, where she was an underwriter, covering downstream energy, power, and construction, for three years. She brings over 19 years of industry experience across downstream and upstream energy, power, construction, and renewable energy. Earlier in her career, she held underwriting and senior roles at firms such as Allianz and XL Catlin.

Commenting on the appointment, Edmund Binsted, HDI’s underwriting manager for downstream energy, said: “We are privileged to have Diane join our expanding team to provide new and innovative solutions, so that we may continue to be our clients’ partner in transformation.”

The appointment follows a string of recent senior moves at HDI Global, including the hire of David Wilson in March as global head of claims for energy and power, and the promotion of Richard Upton in New Zealand—announced last week—to branch manager. The group has also recently made three senior underwriter appointments in Singapore: Tecky Liu, Edward Leong and Serena Lee.
