Berkley Re Asia has appointed Kenrick Law as head of underwriting and branch manager, effective June 2026, the reinsurer announced on LinkedIn on Tuesday.

Law brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the role, most recently serving as regional CEO at Allianz Re for 12 years. Prior to that, he held positions at Asia Capital Re for seven years and Swiss Re for six years. He also previously served as chair of the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association.

“We are excited about this appointment, with Kenrick’s extensive experience and leadership capabilities to complement our existing team,” Berkley Re said in its announcement.

The appointment comes amid several developments across the wider Berkley group. In December 2025, its insurance arm began operations in India through an IFSC branch in GIFT City, becoming the first property and casualty insurer to hold both insurance and reinsurance licences there, while last month, Mitsui Sumitomo completed its 15% stake acquisition in W. R. Berkley in a deal valued at approximately US$3.8bn.
