Aon has appointed Herlina Surya as strategic advisor, power, in its Indonesia business, according to a LinkedIn post by Jon Pipe, head of commercial risk, Asia.
Surya joins Aon after more than 15 years at Marsh Indonesia, where she most recently served as senior vice president. During her tenure, she managed insurance programmes for major power, utility, mining, industrial and infrastructure clients.
She brings extensive experience advising on operational mining risks, independent power producer (IPP) and non-IPP projects, as well as lender-related insurance matters and contract reviews for large-scale infrastructure developments.
“Herlina is a recognised leader in power and infrastructure risk, bringing deep technical expertise and longstanding industry relationships. With experience spanning complex power, mining and infrastructure projects her appointment further strengthens our Power capabilities in Indonesia, at a time when the sector continues to grow in importance,” Pipe said in his announcement.
The hire comes as demand for specialist risk and insurance expertise continues to increase across Indonesia’s energy, power and infrastructure industries, driven by ongoing investment in generation capacity and major development projects.
The announcement follows several recent leadership appointments made by Aon, including Christian Hoffman as global CEO of commercial risk and Chris Camerieri as enterprise client group growth leader for APAC. Aon has also named Masahito Hirai as Japan CEO, and Lily Mak as head of client relationship management for health solutions in Singapore.
