Sapiens International, a SaaS-based insurtech provider, has appointed Krish Datta as executive vice president for Asia Pacific, the company announced on Tuesday.
Based in Singapore, Datta brings more than 35 years of experience in enterprise software and platform businesses across APAC. Effective immediately, he will lead Sapiens’ operations in the region, overseeing its go-to-market strategy, customer growth and regional business operations.
“With APAC as a critical growth frontier, Krish’s mandate is to bring that vision to market across one of the world’s most diverse and fast-growing insurance landscapes,” the company said.
Datta was most recently co-founder and chief executive of Xampr, a Singapore-based firm providing a no-code human process automation platform.
His other roles include an eight-year stint as chief executive for Asia Pacific-Japan and the Middle East at Syniti. He also spent 15 years at SAP in various leadership roles.
James Hannay, chief revenue officer at Sapiens, said Datta’s experience in insurance technology and enterprise software would support the company’s growth plans in the region.
“Krish and I have worked together across some of the most demanding markets in enterprise software, and I have seen first-hand what he can build,” said Sapiens Executive Chairman and interim CEO Mike Ettling.
The appointment comes amid a phase of strategic expansion for Sapiens, marked by a minority investment from a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Recent initiatives include the launch of its Insurance Agentification programme and the opening of an AI Customer Experience Lab at its London headquarters.
