MAPFRE RE has appointed Supreeth Tk as senior underwriter for non-life treaty business and Sudhir Kamath as India lead for finance and administration at its new GIFT City branch.

The reinsurer’s India branch head, Chaturbhuj Bansal, who himself joined the business in June, announced the appointments on Wednesday.

Supreeth joins the reinsurer after more than six years with Swiss Re, where he most recently served as assistant vice-president and underwriting adviser for catastrophe and non-catastrophe treaty business. He brings more than 11 years of experience across treaty underwriting and catastrophe modelling. Before joining Swiss Re in 2020, he held catastrophe modelling roles at Infotech Global and AIG.

Kamath joins MAPFRE RE after more than 12 years with General Insurance Corporation of India, most recently serving as senior manager in Mumbai. His experience spans finance, taxation, regulatory compliance, audit management and credit control, including roles in India and Malaysia.

“Their extensive expertise and domain knowledge come at a pivotal moment as we look to accelerate and strengthen our local presence,” Bansal said in his announcement.
