Howden has appointed Junichiro Ito as head of natural resources, Japan, the broker announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday.

Ito joins after a four-year stint with energy technology company GE Vernova, where he most recently served as commercial country leader for Japan offshore wind. Before that, he held senior positions at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance and Tokio Marine Asia P&C Underwriting.

He brings more than 20 years of experience across the insurance and energy sectors, including extensive energy underwriting expertise.

“His appointment marks an important step in further strengthening our Natural Resources capabilities in Japan, combining deep local insight with global expertise to create greater value for our clients,” Howden said in its announcement.

The move follows Howden’s recent run of activities across the region. The broker announced the appointment of Maisie Ng as director, structured credit, North Asia. Earlier this month, the company also made four senior leadership appointments in Hong Kong and welcomed back Joaquin Carlos Uy as vice president, financial lines leader in the Philippines.
