ProTec General Insurance has appointed Bhaskar Nerurkar as chief of its capability centre, bringing on board an insurance industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience across life and general insurance markets in India and the Gulf.
In the newly created role, Nerurkar will be responsible for designing and driving customer-centric processes across the insurance value chain, according to the company’s announcement on LinkedIn.
He will also focus on enabling distribution partners through process simplification, stronger service capabilities, improved turnaround times and a more seamless experience for both partners and policyholders.
Nerurkar brings more than 35 years of insurance experience, including over 14 years at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, where he held senior leadership positions across health insurance, operations, bancassurance and transformation. Prior to that, he served as associate vice president at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, overseeing core systems and process improvement initiatives.
Announcing the appointment, ProTec said Nerurkar will “focus on enabling partner success by simplifying processes, strengthening service capabilities, improving turnaround times and creating seamless experiences for our distribution partners and their customers.”
After securing a regulatory licence in July, ProTec has been building its leadership bench. Earlier in August, ProTec General announced the appointment of Subramanyam Brahmajosyula as head of underwriting and reinsurance. Brahmajosyula joined from SBI General Insurance, having most recently served as chief technical officer.
The insurer is backed by the M Pallonji Group, promoted by Mehli Mistry and Pheroze Mistry, cousins of the Shapoorji Pallonji family. The venture is also backed by investor Divya Sehgal and Federal Bank.
