ProTec General Insurance has appointed Nitin Singla as head of health claims, networks and fraud management, the Indian insurer announced on LinkedIn.

Based in Mumbai, Singla joins after an 11-year stint at Health Insurance Care, where he most recently served as head of claims in Haryana. He also worked at HDFC ERGO General earlier in his career.

“With 15+ years of experience in health insurance, Nitin brings extensive expertise across claims management, medical adjudication, customer experience, provider management, fraud & investigation, grievance redressal and insurance operations”, ProTec said.

Singla has experience in claims transformation, AI and automation, medical governance, cost optimisation, process improvement and customer experience. The Indian insurer noted that he has also managed large teams and diverse stakeholder ecosystems and will support ProTec’s efforts to develop its health claims and network proposition.

The hire follows a number of appointments made by ProTec since the insurer secured its licence from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) in July.

ProTec recently appointed industry veterans Vijay Anand as chief investment officer, Bhaskar Nerurkar as chief of its capability centre, and Subramanyam Brahmajosyula as head of underwriting and reinsurance. It also named Nikhil Kamdar as appointed actuary.

ProTec is backed by the M Pallonji Group, promoted by Mehli Mistry and Pheroze Mistry, alongside investor Divya Sehgal and the Federal Bank.
