Marsh has appointed Derek Heng as CEO of Marsh ASEAN, effective 1 October, while Peta Latimer will serve as the CEO of Marsh Singapore with immediate effect, the broker announced today (30 September).
Heng will retain his current role as CEO of Marsh Thailand and report to David Jacob, CEO of Marsh Asia. Latimer will continue to serve as president of Marsh’s People and Investments business in Asia alongside her new responsibilities and will also report to Jacob.
Heng joined Marsh in 2015 and has held a number of leadership positions across Asia, including roles in private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He relocated to Thailand in 2019 as chief integration officer for the Marsh-JLT integration and was appointed CEO of Marsh Thailand in June 2022.

Latimer joined Marsh in 2018 as CEO of its People and Investments business in Singapore and was promoted to president of the division for Asia in 2023. Before joining Marsh, she was a partner at KPMG Singapore and held senior roles at IBM.
Marsh’s ASEAN business includes operations in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. In their expanded roles, Heng and Latimer will focus on delivering the broker’s services and solutions to clients across the region while strengthening collaboration across Marsh’s risk, strategy, and people and investments capabilities.

In July, Marsh acquired its Thailand joint venture, ending a nearly five-decade partnership with local shareholders and renamed it Marsh Risk (Thailand).
The appointments follow other management changes across Marsh’s Asia Pacific operations. Earlier in September, Marsh appointed Anna Scott as CEO of Marsh New Zealand, succeeding Toni Ferrier, who stepped down from the role at the end of August.
