Starr Insurance has appointed Sean Chen as President for Asia Pacific, effective 1 August, the business announced on Friday via LinkedIn.
He will succeed Phil Finley, who is set to retire from the company in early 2026 after 23 years of service, including a tenure as CEO of Thailand.
Chen, who has been with Starr for nearly 17 years, will continue to serve in his role as CEO and Country Manager for Starr Singapore alongside his new responsibilities, reporting to Jose Ribeiro, President for APAC and Latin America.
In a separate LinkedIn announcement, Starr also revealed that Philippine Country Manager Derick Narvacan will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer for APAC. Narvacan will continue to serve as Head of the Philippines alongside his expanded remit.
The moves underline an ongoing regional transformation for Starr. In July, the business announced two key appointments in the region: PeiQi Lee as Head of Casualty and David Wang as Head of Financial Lines.
