Aon has appointed Matthew Chae as growth leader, life and health, Korea, within its Reinsurance Solutions business, the broker announced via LinkedIn on Tuesday.
Based in Seoul, Chae reports to Young Wook (YW) Kang, head of life and health, Korea. He joins from TAL Australia, where he most recently served as head of actuarial for Project Chrysalis. He has also worked with insurers and reinsurers across Australia and Hong Kong, including Suncorp, Munich Re, Prudential Hong Kong, CommInsure, and Reinsurance Group of America.
He brings more than two decades of experience in life insurance and reinsurance, with expertise in capital management, valuation, IFRS 17 implementation and business transformation.
His appointment continues Aon’s investment in strengthening its reinsurance solutions leadership across Asia Pacific. The move also follows the recent appointments of George Attard as global head of analytics, Chin Fong Teh as chief of staff for APAC Reinsurance Solutions in June, and Jukgrid Treesuttamas as senior adviser for Thailand in April.
