Aon has appointed Jason Disborough as chief commercial officer for the Pacific, effective 1 January 2026, the company said in a press release on 18 November.

Based in Brisbane, Disborough has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience, including over 24 years with Aon. He most recently served as enterprise growth leader for Asia Pacific and CEO – Multinational Clients (International).

In his new role, he will be responsible for commercial strategy and client engagement across the Pacific region and will join the Executive Leadership Teams for Australia and New Zealand, as well as the newly formed Pacific Partnership Committee.

“Jason is a proven leader who brings people together to solve complex challenges,” said Melissa Cantell, CEO of New Zealand for Aon, adding that “The launch of the Pacific Partnership Committee is a testament to our commitment to cross-market collaboration and I look forward to working closely with Jason to drive innovation and share best practices for the benefit of our clients and colleagues in both Australia and New Zealand.”

Commenting on his appointment, Disborough said he was honoured to step into this role at a pivotal time for our region.

Disborough’s appointment follows other leadership changes announced by Aon in the region. Earlier today, the company named Vincent Shih as Head of Treaty Reinsurance in Taiwan. In the last month, it also appointed Simon Chisholm as Asia Reinsurance Solutions Chairman, promoted Joe Gardner to Broking Leader, Crisis Management for Asia, and selected Wee Teck Tea as the business’s Head of Commercial Risk in Singapore.
