Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance has promoted Anna Spink to Head of Marine, Australasia, the company announced in a media release on Thursday.
Spink joins the marine division from her previous role as National Manager, Corporate Property. She first joined BHSI in July 2018 and brings with her nearly 35 years of insurance industry experience from both the UK and Australian markets.
In her new role, Sydney-based Spink will manage BHSI’s marine cargo, marine liability, marine hull, pleasure craft, plant and equipment, general property and heavy motor portfolios across Australasia, the specialty insurer said.
“Anna’s underwriting expertise, deep relationships with customers and brokers and track record of exceptional service really underpin our ambition to continue building out our Ocean and Inland Marine specialty portfolio,” said Mark Lingafelter, President, BHSI, Australasia.
BHSI has been strengthening its leadership team across multiple divisions in the region this year, including Megan Howe’s promotion to Head of Claims for Australasia in March and the launch of a new management liability policy for Australia’s life sciences sector in June.
