Chubb has appointed Gurudutt Joglekar as country president of Chubb Insurance Malaysia Berhad, effective immediately, the company announced on Monday.
He succeeds Jon Longmore, who will move into a new role within the company, with further details to be announced shortly, Chubb said.
The promotion comes less than two months after Joglekar joined the insurer as deputy country president for Malaysia in June. He will report to Marcos Gunn, regional president, Asia Pacific.
He brings more than two decades of insurance experience across Malaysia, Hong Kong and India, spanning motor and commercial property and casualty underwriting.
Before joining Chubb, Joglekar spent over 18 years with Generali, holding multiple senior technical and underwriting roles across its businesses, including country chief insurance officer at MPI Generali.
“Gurudutt is a strategic and results-driven leader … As we continue to advance our strategy in Malaysia, he will lead our dedicated team in delivering continued growth and operational transformation in this key market,” Gunn said.
The announcement follows other key leadership appointments across Chubb’s APAC operations, including Lorna Latorre as head of travel for APAC, Kishore Motwani as head of operations for Chubb Life, Dicky Lam as chief financial officer of Chubb Life Hong Kong, and Ariel Llugdar as head of motor claims for Malaysia.
