Arch Insurance Australia has appointed Fariha Neda as northern region executive assurance underwriting manager, effective immediately.

Based in Sydney, Neda joins from FN Insurance Advisory, where she most recently served as managing director.

She brings more than 24 years of industry experience, having worked for several insurers across Australia. Earlier in her career, she held roles at CFC and CGU Insurance, as well as broking positions at Arthur J. Gallagher and Aon Risk Services.

In her new role, Neda will oversee underwriting activities across the insurer’s northern region executive assurance portfolio, which covers New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.

She will report to Louise Lumley, head of executive assurance.

Commenting on the appointment, Lumley said Neda “brings wide-ranging financial lines experience and strong regional broker relationships to the role. Her broad knowledge across management liability and D&O will be invaluable in supporting our brokers and clients … across the Northern Region.”

The move adds to a series of senior underwriting changes at Arch Australia this year, following Aisling Hegarty’s promotion to head of professional indemnity and Carey Sturgiss’s appointment as southern region PI underwriting manager. The insurer has also appointed Brendon Terry and Jarrod O’Connor as regional branch managers.
