Gallagher Re has appointed Chulmin (CM) Jang as CEO of its Korea operations, effective 28 May 2025, the global reinsurance broker announced in a media release.
Jang succeeds PhilWon Jeong, who will transition to the role of Chairman of Gallagher Korea.
Bringing over 30 years of reinsurance expertise, Jang joins Gallagher Re from Aon, where he served as President of Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Korea. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at Korea Re, including Executive Managing Director, with responsibilities spanning marine, property, agriculture, and international markets, as well as overseeing key renewals for major accounts.

O’Brien also acknowledged Jeong’s contributions: “PhilWon has done a fantastic job in establishing a brand and service proposition for Gallagher Re in Korea and we would also like to thank him for his years of service as our CEO. He will support CM on the running of the business going forward.”
This move follows Gallagher Re’s May appointments of Satoshi Yamazaki as Senior Manager in Tokyo and Hemant Nagpal as Head of Analytics for APAC.
