Howden Private Wealth has announced the promotion of Bryan Pee to Chief Executive Officer for Singapore and Malaysia, effective 10 March, and Shirley Sy as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Hong Kong, effective 1 January.

Pee first joined Howden in September 2023 as Head of their Singapore and Malaysia offices, bringing with him a background in senior management at Credit Suisse. Since joining, Pee has been “instrumental in driving significant growth and success in the region,” Howden says.

Sy has been with Howden Private Wealth since 2011, when she joined as New Business Manager, before becoming Head of Operations in 2014. According to Howden. her deep knowledge of the Hong Kong market and strong relationships with major insurers, underwriters, and reinsurers have made her an invaluable asset.

“As we set our sights on growing our business, we must continue to invest in people and resources,” said Benjamin Cheng, CEO of Howden Private Wealth. “I am excited to have Bryan and Shirley step up to support the growth of our business across regions.”

Howden Private Wealth reports a 45% year-on-year increase in policies written in 2024 and says it has now placed over US$50bn in life insurance coverage globally, along with over US$1.5bn in new premiums annually.
