Newline Australia has promoted Bec Smith to senior underwriter within its professional indemnity team, led by Nick Beswick.
Based in Sydney, Smith has been with the specialty insurer since 2024 as an underwriter. She has over 13 years of industry experience, with a background in professional risks and international financial lines underwriting. Before joining Newline, she held various roles at Chase Underwriting, Ensurance Limited, and XL Catlin/AXA XL.
Smith’s promotion is part of a broader round of underwriting elevations across the group, with Newline also moving up three members of its Asia team. On Monday, it announced the promotion of Cayden Lim to underwriter for liability, and Songju Lee, and Jayrius Lai to underwriters for financial lines.
