Peak Re on Monday announced the promotion of David Menezes to Chief Risk Officer, effective immediately.
Menezes steps into this role having served as Deputy Chief Risk Officer at the Hong Kong-headquartered reinsurer since September 2022. He originally joined the business in 2016 and has been “instrumental in maintaining our high standards of risk management and compliance,” Peak Re said in a statement.
In his new role, Menezes will continue to ensure regulatory and legal adherence, understand risks and exposures, and safeguard the company’s financial strength, the company added.

Menezes is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holds a postgraduate degree in Physics from the University of Oxford. He has also actively participated in several industry working groups, including advising on IFRS17 implementation for general insurance and developing risk-based capital solvency standards.
