QBE has appointed Shelby Tan as Head of Risk and Compliance in Singapore, effective December 1, the company announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday. In her expanded role, Tan will lead both risk and compliance functions, building on her current position as Head of Risk, Singapore.

Tan has been with QBE since April 2021, initially joining as Risk Manager before being promoted to Head of Risk, Singapore in 2022. Before joining QBE, Tan spent her time at PwC Singapore as an Assurance Manager, specialising in financial services, including life and non-life insurance.

“Since joining, Shelby has demonstrated exceptional expertise across Singapore and the wider Asian markets, with a deep understanding of governance, risk management and regulatory compliance,” QBE said.

Her appointment is the latest in a series of senior moves at QBE across the Asia Pacific region in recent months, including Tim Hough’s appointment as Marine Risk Engineer and Chris Killourhy’s promotion to Group Chief Financial Officer.
