Raymond Ong has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore (TMLS), the business announced on Monday.
Ong moves from Etiqa Insurance Singapore, where he was also CEO for more than five years. An actuary by profession, he brings more than three decades of experience across insurance, healthcare, investments, finance, audit, legal, governance, and compliance. He previously held key leadership roles at Great Eastern, AXA Minmetals Assurance, AXA, Cigna International, Aviva, Allianz, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he began his career in 1993.
He has also built extensive regional experience, including more than a decade of work in China and Malaysia, throughout his career.
“With his deep industry expertise and regional perspective, Mr. Ong is well positioned to lead TMLS into its next phase of growth,” TMLS commented on the appointment. “We look forward to his leadership as we continue to inspire confidence and accelerate progress.”
Ong’s appointment comes on the heels of a strategic development for Tokio Marine earlier this month, when the National Indemnity Company, Berkshire Hathaway’s reinsurance arm, acquired a 2.49% stake in Tokio Marine Holdings, following the completion of its share purchase on 13 April 2026.
