Sompo has appointed Pablo Diago as Chief Claims Officer for the Asia Pacific region, effective immediately.
Singapore-based Diago joined Sompo in December 2023 as APAC Head of Claims for Commercial Insurance. In his new role he expands his responsibilities to oversee the Claims function for both Commercial and Consumer businesses in the region. His responsibilities include operational excellence and service governance across all channels, as well as developing talent and capabilities, Sompo said in its announcement.
Diago reports to Kenneth Reilly, Chief Executive Officer, Insurance, APAC, and joins the APAC executive team. Reilly commented, “Pablo joined Sompo a year ago and has been pivotal in driving our operational strategy. With his technical expertise and deep understanding of APAC’s risk environment, I am confident that Pablo will lead the region’s Claims team through enhanced processes to ensure operational and service efficiency and effectiveness.”
Prior to joining Sompo, Diago was Regional Head of Major Claims, Asia at loss adjuster Crawford & Company. His previous insurance industry experience in Asia also includes time at HDI Global, FAS Global, and Marsh.
