Sun Life Philippines has hired Jonathan Juan Moreno as its new President, the insurer announced on Monday, 23 June.
Moreno is a seasoned business leader with over 20 years of experience across financial technology, brokerage, and corporate governance.
From 2022 to 2025, he served as President and Chief Executive of AF Payments, owned by the Ayala Group and the First Pacific Group. Moreno also spent 12 years at Marsh Philippines, a global insurance broker and risk advisor.
Benedict Sison, Sun Life Chief Executive and Country Head, stated that Moreno’s appointment marks a significant step in the life insurer’s growth. “His proven track record of achieving results with integrity, combined with his transformational leadership, will be instrumental as we continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of our clients and advisors.”
Commenting on the appointment, Moreno said, “In a rapidly changing world, we are accelerating our transformation to be a future-ready and client-centric leader in the industry.”
Moreno is the latest key appointment at Sun Life this month, following Teck Seng Ho as President and Country Head in Malaysia, and Lay Hoon Tan as CEO in Vietnam.
