Sun Life Singapore will welcome Christopher Albrecht as its new Chief Executive Officer starting 1 January 2024, reporting directly to Karim Gilani — President of Greater China, Singapore, and International High Net Worth at Sun Life Financial.
In his new role, Albrecht will take charge of the Singaporean insurer’s strategic and operational development, with an emphasis on long-term growth, diversification of the business, and development of the firm’s workforce.
His career spans over two decades, with experience across banking, insurance, and brokerage, and High-Net-Worth (HNW) sectors. He has held various key positions at global firms, including HSBC Insurance (Singapore), Old Mutual International, Swiss Life, and the 1291 Group in Hong Kong.
Gilani commented on the appointment, saying, “Christopher’s diverse background and international exposure make him an ideal fit for Sun Life Singapore’s next stages of growth.
I am confident that with his leadership and extensive industry knowledge, we will drive greater success for the business, further unlock value for our partners and clients, and cement our status as the leading insurer for HNW insurance in Asia.”
